Director of Marketing (Ballast Point Brewing) Full-Time, Exempt Hybrid (at least 3 days/week in San Diego office) Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a Director of Marketing who’s equal parts strategist and operator — someone who builds smart plans, executes quickly, and improves performance with data. You’ll lead marketing across the Ballast Point brand and our four tasting rooms, owning the channel mix, calendar, creative direction, and budget to drive traffic, revenue, and brand growth. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own the marketing plan across the Ballast Point brand and four tasting rooms: strategy, channel mix, timing, and budget tied to business goals - Develop market-specific plans in partnership with General Managers to drive foot traffic and revenue - Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new beer releases, seasonal launches, and limited drops - Protect and evolve the Ballast Point brand voice, look, and feel across all channels and locations - Manage public relations partners, including PR strategy, approvals, and coordination for launches and key brand moments - Build, manage, and optimize paid media campaigns across Meta, Google, and local publishers - Own CRM, loyalty, and guest retention strategies via Toast and Mailchimp - Own website content and accuracy (menus, events, tasting room pages) using WordPress/Elementor - Oversee brand presence on Yelp, Google, OpenTable, and other guest-facing platforms - Lead content creation including photography, video, and copywriting across campaigns and channels - Manage and mentor the Social Media Coordinator; guide influencer and UGC strategy - Own the marketing budget, track performance, and report results to leadership with insights and recommendations WHO YOU ARE - 5–7 years of hands-on, multi-channel marketing experience - Strong strategic planner with proven execution skills - Excellent writer with strong creative judgment - Comfortable collaborating with designers and external partners - Experience with Meta Ads, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Toast, WordPress, and related tools - Experience marketing across multiple locations or markets - Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and calm under pressure - Beer, beverage, or hospitality experience strongly preferred - San Diego–based with the ability to travel to tasting room markets as needed
