The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Marketing & Grants to lead our marketing, communications, and grant development efforts. What You’ll Do Lead brand strategy and marketing campaigns that inspire donations, adoptions, and community engagement Oversee all aspects of digital marketing, including website management, social media, email, and advertising Craft compelling storytelling that highlights HSSC’s impact, rescues, and community partnerships Identify and pursue grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies Write persuasive proposals and reports that demonstrate outcomes and sustain funding Collaborate with leadership to strengthen public visibility and philanthropic growth Supervise and mentor the Communications Coordinator Represent HSSC at events and community gatherings to expand awareness and support Requirements What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or related field 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, or grant development (animal welfare experience preferred) Proven success in grant writing and campaign strategy Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills Experience managing websites, digital advertising, and social platforms Strong leadership and project management abilities Collaborative spirit and passion for animal welfare Work Environment This position operates in both office and shelter settings, with occasional evening or weekend events.
