POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Director is the orchestra’s chief brand strategist and ambassador. This position leads the design and execution of marketing, communications, and community engagement programs that grow audiences, maximize ticket revenue, and create lasting connections within the community. The ideal candidate is an engaging, strategic storyteller and content creator, with a background in advertising who can craft compelling content, manage ticket sales campaigns, and represent the orchestra with creativity and professionalism.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on marketing, communication, arts administration, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic marketing, brand management, or communications, preferably in the performing arts or nonprofit sector.
  • Working knowledge of PatronManager CRM is a plus.
  • Experience leading subscription, single-ticket, and group sales campaigns.
  • Strong leadership, budget management, and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public presentation abilities.
  • Passion for music and commitment to the role of the arts in community life.
  • Handles stressful situations with a pleasant demeanor.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple activities and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proven ability to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Excellent computer skills and comfort with spreadsheets, word processing, mail merge, and cloud based solutions
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products and Wordpress for websites.
  • Attendance at all MSO concerts is required. Evening and weekend hours are required as dictated by programs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
