The J127 Education Foundation, operating three independent schools in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a Director of Marketing. The Marketing Director is responsible for managing all marketing initiatives and strategic planning for The Appletree School, First Steps Academy and Merritt Academy. The Marketing Director will partner with leadership to establish marketing and outreach operations and procedures, and lead marketing initiatives needed to support the company’s goals. The Marketing Director is responsible for setting the marketing budget, conducting data analysis of competitors and the market, customer and partner communications and departmental reporting.
Requirements:
- Plan and manage marketing strategies, campaigns and calendars for the Foundation schools.
- Monitor and analyze marketing metrics to guide campaigns and make data driven decisions.
- Create company social media, web, video, print, advertising, sales and collateral.
- Write for the website and update website content.
- Oversee the creation of materials including posters, fliers, programs, invitations, etc. to support various special events.
- Develop branded materials and shepherd projects through inception, design, edits, approvals, and production.
- Organize and host marketing events and experiences.
- Create and manage an annual marketing budget.
- Analyze and report on the success of campaigns based on return on investment metrics.
- Advise senior management by continuously researching, reviewing, assessing and making recommendations regarding improvement of The Foundation’s marketing based on industry data and tends.
- Identify opportunities to update, simplify, automate, and enhance existing processes and tools to better meet the needs of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant marketing experience preferred
- Experience in educational environments preferred
- Experience in brand marketing, community building, or customer engagement
- Proven track record of creating and executing successful brand appreciation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective marketing strategies
- Possess time management skills to work on and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven experience with company social media, web, video, print, and advertising collateral.
- Experience with multi-site operations preferred
- Strong communications and written skills
- Experience analyzing analytics of campaigns and marketing data to critique and improve marketing and advertising activities
- Experience with Word Press, Google Analytics, SEO and Digital Marketing
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Have reliable transportation to travel between multiple school sites
- Pass pre-employment screenings
