Director of Marketing Position Summary: Provides strategic leadership and vision for Chesapeake’s agency management services and broker business development. Oversees the planning, direction, and continuous improvement of agency and broker management systems, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Drives innovation in marketing strategy, product development, and market research to support company growth, profitability, and competitive positioning. Collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver value-added solutions and optimize business outcomes. Duties and Responsibilities: Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives; adheres to departmental policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards as applicable, and consistently exhibits Chesapeake’s Values and Behaviors. Directs and oversees the development and maintenance of agency management services to support the company’s strategic plan and business goals. Provides performance feedback to direct reports; conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback and coaching to enhance individual and team effectiveness. Actively participates and makes recommendations for personnel actions including hiring, promoting, and disciplinary measures in alignment with organizational and department policies. Guides and supports the training and professional development of direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical experience. Participates in cross-functional projects and initiatives supporting key organizational and operational outcomes. Provides team leadership to build and maintain agency management services systems, including reference materials, guidelines, procedure manuals, and training resources. Directs the development, implementation, and management of broker business plans, broker marketing strategies, and broker assessment processes. Identifies and implements marketing system support requirements, technology innovation, business process improvements, and economies of scale to optimize product services and support. Collaborates with Marketing Leadership and other operational leaders (Underwriting, Safety Services, Claims, Premium Audit) to identify and execute tactical initiatives targeting profitable business opportunities. Evaluates requests for new products or enhancements; identifies and recommends strategies to address evolving insurance needs. Oversees the development and collection of market research data to analyze markets, competitor practices, and emerging opportunities. Recommends and implements effective strategies for new product launches, including risk and rating assessments, pricing, product coverage, and business/system requirements. Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for agency and broker management. Other duties and project work as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of agency management, broker business development, and insurance marketing. Strong leadership, project management, and team development skills. Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Proficient in planning, analytics, and business process improvement. Strong business acumen and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or CPCU required. Ten (10) or more years of project leadership experience in insurance product development and implementation. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of marketing and underwriting experience required. Five (5) or more years of leadership experience. Effectively utilizes technologies and tools, including Microsoft 365 and role-specific platforms, to support productivity and efficient work practices. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills preferred. Hiring Salary Range: $129,717 - $207,549 Agency Operations Manager Position Summary: Provides support in the execution of Chesapeake’s agency management services and broker business development initiatives. Assists in the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of agency and broker management systems, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements. Contributes to the implementation of marketing strategies, product initiatives, and market research efforts to support company growth, profitability, and competitive positioning. Leads the marketing agency operations department and cross-functional teams to execute solutions that enhance business outcomes and market presence. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing Business, or related field. Five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership or supervisory experience. Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in marketing, insurance, or related business functions. Experience supporting marketing campaigns, agency or broker relationships, or product marketing initiatives. Basic understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, and distribution channels preferred. Effectively utilizes technologies and tools, including Microsoft 365 and role-specific platforms, to support productivity and efficient work practices. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills preferred. Progress toward or completion of CPCU or other relevant industry designation preferred.
