This executive role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management, including procurement, inventory control, and supply chain optimization. The Director of Materials will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies that align with overall business objectives, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and long-term organizational success. Job Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive materials management strategies that align with company goals and drive operational efficiency. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of materials management professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and preparing employees for succession planning. Inventory Optimization: Manage and optimize inventory levels to reduce costs while maintaining high service standards. Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure reliability and value creation. Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends to design and implement innovative procurement strategies. Systems Management: Oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of ERP systems and other digital platforms supporting materials management. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance forecasting accuracy, demand planning, and overall supply chain performance. Financial Oversight: Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets. Process Improvement: Drive lean initiatives and continuous process improvements across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Compliance: Ensure all materials management activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in materials management, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and global sourcing practices Experience in designing and implementing new logistics concepts or driving operational changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance. Preferred Qualifications: MBA or advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic materials management initiatives aligned with business objectives Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and procurement best practices Proficiency with advanced planning systems (APS), ERP platforms (SAP preferred), transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and supply chain analytics Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and driving cost-effective operations Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement Experience managing regional or global supply chain operations in complex, matrixed environments Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, APICS CPIM/CSCP, or PMP Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a track record of executive-level engagement Willingness and ability to travel as needed Additional Information Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability / veterans *Bosch adheres to Federal, State, and Local laws regarding drug-testing.
