Lead a team of mechanical engineers to develop systems and building blocks for Azure datacenters Bring clarity, create energy, and drive results in a way that inspires engineers to perform at their best and grow their career Provide technical guidance, development, and mentorship in mechanical design, validation, and technical leadership Develop scalable work flows with focus on continuous improvement, quality, cost, and predictability Ensure high standards of engineering excellence in design and development balanced with the need for agility and time to market Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems, provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Drive strategy for mechanical design materials and design strategy with keen focus on sustainable materials with respect to their mechanical properties and re-use of common parts across generations. Stay abreast of the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data center technologies, and propose innovative ideas to enhance our hardware offerings Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience. 1+ year(s) people management experience. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Technical Skills: Understanding of mechanical design principles and predictive analysis, material selection, manufacturing processes, and use of CAD and CAE software Leadership Abilities: At least two years experience leading a team of engineers, coordinating complex projects, and driving innovation in a collaborative environment Industry experience in server hardware development, data center infrastructure, or cloud computing Experience in sheet metal design, PCA mechanical design, plastic design Experience in cross-discipline design process from chip to the rack level Experience managing ODM engineering deliverables Knowledge of material science, design for manufacturing, and sustainable design Experience with prototyping, tooling design, and high volume manufacturing
