The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related field or equivalent education required
  • Master’s Degree required
Responsibilities
  • Leads the process improvement plan and implementation for the Bluewater Health medical affairs department, taking into account best practices and innovative opportunities as it pertains to a collaborative model of care.
  • Continually advances the operation effectiveness and efficiency of the program through quality improvement initiative, benchmarking, implementation of clinical and management information systems, the introduction of new technology, and work redesign.
  • Works with the Chief of Staff in achieving his strategic goals for the Board of Directors
  • Supports the Chief of Staff in ensuring that work of Professional Staff is in compliance with the Public Hospitals Act, regulations, Professional Staff Bylaws, and hospital policies
  • Oversight of recruitment/retention of physicians and prepare an annual medical human resource planning to meet the need of the Hospital and community.
  • Works with the Chief of Staff to liaise with the Professional Staff, Medical Directors/Chiefs, Educational Institutions, relevant government agencies, and community health providers and related stakeholders.
  • Oversight of learners, including medical students/residents, and liaison with medical schools, such as Western University
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff/VP Medical Affairs.
