JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a Director of Medical Staff Services. As our new Director, you will provide direction and management of the medical services office (MSO) activities. You will also serve as the primary liaison between the hospital and Credential Processing Center (CPC) on process. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) with the National Association Medical Staff Services is preferred
  • Three to five years’ experience in a medical staff office.
  • Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
  • Previous credentialing and management experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of The Joint Commission accreditation process and standards, health care and credentialing industry, regulatory and legal requirements and other national standards preferred.

Responsibilities
  • You will ensure the confidentiality of the medical staff committee records, is maintained at all times (i.e., credentials files, meeting minutes).
  • You will oversee administrative schedules, medical staff meetings; assist medical staff officers in complying with provisions of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
  • You will ensure Medical Staff Office and credentialing program complies with Medical Staff standards, The Joint Commission, legal and all regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
  • You will interpret, explain and follow all regulatory guidelines, including medical staff bylaws, fair hearing plan, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • You will oversee coordination, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the new physician orientation program.
