Description The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking an innovative, compassionate, and mission-driven leader to serve as our next Director of Mental Health Services. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Mental Health Services will provide strategic leadership and oversight for counseling and behavioral health services while guiding the continued expansion of the YMCA’s mental health platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and a passion for program development, including leading the launch of a new behavioral health service location. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative services, build community partnerships, and advance the YMCA’s mission of strengthening the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all YMCA mental and behavioral health services, ensuring programs are responsive to community needs, aligned with organizational goals, and delivered in accordance with industry best practices. Lead the growth and development of behavioral health services, including oversight of counseling programs, Intensive In-Community (IIC) services, outpatient counseling, grant-funded initiatives, family support programs, and the continued development of a State of New Jersey Licensed Outpatient Clinic. Drive operational excellence through the implementation and management of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, development of policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, confidentiality, cultural competency, personal and professional ethics and oversight of clinical operations. Develop strategic partnerships and community engagement initiatives with healthcare providers, schools, insurers, substance use disorder treatment programs, and community organizations to expand access to mental health services, referrals, education, and prevention programs. Lead and support organizational growth, including the launch of a new behavioral health service location, supervision of behavioral health staff and contracted clinicians, program development, and the delivery of direct clinical services as needed, while exemplifying the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith. Requirements LCSW/LPC, required; LCADA, preferred Knowledge of the NJ Children System of Care, Medicaid, and Private Insurance Minimum of 5 years similar experience Children’s System of Care, Biopsychosocial Certification required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Passion for expanding Behavioral Health Services to all Excellent Leadership and Management Skills Skills in planning, organizing, and implementing is essential Strong desire to make a difference Supervision Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire Knowledge of, and experience in clinical practice operations required
