Description The Director of Ministry provides leadership and oversight for all Timber-lee ministries—including summer camp, winter camp, and programmed retreats. This role leads and mentors staff, drives program excellence, and ensures that every guest-facing aspect of ministry reflects our mission and values. You’ll collaborate across departments, guide seasonal teams, and champion the spiritual heartbeat of camp. Lead & Develop the Ministry Team Direct all aspects of the Ministry Department through strong relationships, clear expectations, coaching, and accountability. Ensure delivery of excellent, mission-aligned guest experiences and collaboration with other internal teams. Serve as an active member of the Program Leadership Team, helping develop and execute camp programs. Program & Operational Leadership Plan, implement, and oversee all Timber-lee youth ministry programs (summer camp, winterXtreme, programmed retreats). Coordinate interdepartmental logistics and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth program delivery. Provide input into curriculum, themes, and new ministry initiatives. Budget & Resource Management Create, manage, and monitor the annual Ministry Department operating budget. Recruit, schedule, and partner with youth speakers and worship bands to meet program goals. Summer Camp Leadership Oversee hiring, training, and leadership of summer staff. Manage administrative elements including registration materials, check-in processes, camper booklets, summer manuals, housing assignments, and staff evaluations. Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, staff, and campers. Stage & Platform Leadership Confidently lead large groups from stage, facilitating announcements, programming moments, or large-group activities as needed. Requirements Spiritual Is a professing Christian and is supportive of Timber-lee’s mission and core values as well as committed to the truths found in our Statement of Faith. Commitment to a Christian lifestyle and demonstration of character in keeping with the biblical model. Has a Biblical understanding including the ability to dissect and teach the Word. Organizational In agreement of, and supports, Timber-lee Ministries philosophy and policies. Demonstrates excellent work ethic and excels at providing quality guest experiences. Has excellent communication skills and the desire and ability to teach, lead and train others. Understand and exhibit behaviors and skills needed to function and be accountable in a team environment. Positional Proven leadership experience in ministry settings, including managing teams and overseeing people-focused operations Desire for and ability to step into conflict management and resolution. A working knowledge of ministry. Good computer skills including Microsoft, Google Suites, and CRM Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to lead large crowds of people from a stage. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities. Good interpersonal and decision-making skills. Has a valid drivers license for at least three years. Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at least 50 feet. Evenings and weekends required Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground in all seasons of the year; is able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time
