Director of Music - St. Francis de Sales Parish and School in Newark Ohio Full-Time Benefits Eligible 35-40 hrs. a week, Wednesday - Sunday (schedule varies based on ministry needs) 40k-62k salary based on experience and qualifications __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ St. Francis de Sales Parish & School in Newark, Ohio is seeking a faithful and collaborative Director of Music to lead and grow the parish’s liturgical music ministry. The Director of Music coordinates music for weekend Masses, holy days, sacramental celebrations, weddings, funerals, and school liturgies, working closely with clergy, parish staff, and school leadership. Responsibilities include directing the adult choir, developing a parish children’s choir, collaborating with the school music teacher to support school choir leadership for liturgical celebrations, forming and scheduling cantors, and assisting with oversight of parish sound equipment and livestream ministry volunteers. The Director also supports seasonal liturgical planning, maintains music resources, and participates in parish staff collaboration and liturgy preparation. Candidates should be practicing Catholics committed to the mission of the Church and able to lead liturgical music in a collaborative parish setting. Ability to play the organ or willingness to learn. Bachelor’s degree in music (or equivalent experience) preferred. Experience with Catholic liturgy, choir direction, parish sound systems, or livestream ministry is beneficial. Full job description is available upon request.
