Description Conifer Park is looking for a Full-time Director of Nursing to join our team at our location in Glenville, NY. In this position, the Director of nursing will provide overall nursing direction and focus for Conifer Park Inc. (hereafter “Company” in accordance with agency policy; JCAHO and OASAS regulatory requirements. Use reasonable best efforts to ensure general nursing management of patients by qualified nursing staff, while maintaining communication and coordination among physicians and consultants. In this position the Director of Nursing will be responsible for: Collaborating with the Executive Director and Medical Director in: Medical phases of new program development; new program implementation; achieving financial objectives; requirements for and use of space for the programs. Maintain a quality assurance program acceptable to the Facility, JCAHO and OASAS; identify area of clinical problems/deficiencies and develop remediation programs. Program Evaluation – In conjunction with the Clinical Leadership Committee: develop programs to monitor efficiency of alcohol and substance abuse treatment services; monitor patient outcomes; monitor efficiency of particular treatments Working closely with the Medical Director, review and revised medical, psychiatric and nursing department organizational structures to delineate authority, functional responsibilities and lines of communications. Participate with the Medical Director in the planning, policy development and priority setting activities at the facility level to ensure that medical, psychiatric and nursing services policies are consistent with organizational goals and philosophy. Develop policies and procedures that govern medical, psychiatric and nursing services. Collaborate in the development and implementation of these multi-disciplinary policies. Ensure that the medical, psychiatric and nursing practice is consistent with the guidelines and rules of conduct of the Department of Education of the State of New York as well as other licensing agencies. Establish, approve, support and monitor standards for patient care within the departments of medicine, psychiatry and nursing. Provides oversight, direction and training of the Nurse Manager, Registered Nurses and Licensed Practice Nursing staff. Works with facility scheduler regarding nursing schedules and time off. Maintains positive and effective working relationships with other departments and local, state and federal health agencies to assure maximum benefit for patient care and the Company. Serves on executive, leadership, departmental, multidisciplinary, administrative, and medical committees as requested by the Executive Director. Responsible for hiring, disciplinary and terminating employees, while following the Union Contract and Policies and Procedures of the Company Completes staff evaluations and competency evaluations as determined by facility policies Ensures that the review and approval of responsible staff payroll is reviewed on a bi-weekly basis. Other duties as assigned.
