Description POSITION SUMMARY: To oversee and coordinate all medical and nursing service delivery for the UCP/Elizabeth Levinson Center. Responsible for all administrative/medical functions related to supervision of nursing staff/direct care staff. Supervise nursing staff (RN’s/LPN’s), CNA supervisor and CNA Coordinator. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the ELC policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assist in the planning and development of Individual Program Plans for each individual served including ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the hiring, training, supervision, and appraisal of all Nursing staff and assist each with implementation of his/her job wherever necessary. Supervise medication/treatment/ first aide administration as necessary. Consult with physicians regarding residents’ medical care. Consult with QIDP and provide support to the active treatment process. 24 hour on call rotation with other direct care nursing staff for medical emergencies. Maintain quality assurance for the department. Monitor and maintain all necessary supplies and equipment for the department. Auditing various aspects of the program to ensure compliance and quality and reporting those audit finding to administrator and/or appropriate committees. Emergency nursing coverage. Ensure completion of the BMS-85 forms for each resident according to appropriate timeline and submit to DHHS. Review all medication administration records and treatment sheets and closely coordinate with pharmacy contractor in delivery of services. Facilitates Infection Control, Activities and Dietary Committee meeting. Participate in H.R.A.C. Requirements REQUIRED State of Maine Registered Nursing Licensure Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a Four-Year College or Technical school and three to five year related experience and or training. Five years’ supervisory experience. Proof of Influenza vaccinations; Tuberculosis test; proof of immunity from MMR, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis-B. Valid State of Maine driver license, reliable transportation with proof of registration and insurance, and willingness to use own transportation for work.
