Role Summary The Director of Operations is the primary driver of schoolwide operational excellence at Ethos Classical Charter School. This role owns daily school operations, systems, compliance, and logistics, ensuring the campus runs safely, smoothly, and in full alignment with charter, district, and state requirements. Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Operations partners closely with academic and culture leaders to remove operational barriers to learning and create a safe, organized, and highly functional school environment for scholars, staff, and families. Key Responsibilities School Operations & Systems Own and oversee all daily school operations. Design, implement, and continuously improve operational systems and procedures that support efficiency and consistency. Ensure front office operations are organized, responsive, and aligned to school expectations. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all charter, district, and state operational requirements, including attendance reporting, emergency preparedness, and mandated procedures. Lead campus safety planning, drills, and crisis response protocols in partnership with school leadership. Maintain and audit required documentation related to safety, operations, and compliance. Data, Systems & Reporting Oversee operational data systems, including student information systems, attendance platforms, and operational trackers. Ensure accurate and timely reporting related to enrollment, attendance, compliance, and operations. Partner with network and leadership teams to support audits, reviews, and reporting requirements. Team Leadership & Development Manage and develop operations staff, including front office personnel. Set clear expectations, workflows, and accountability systems for the operations team. Provide coaching and feedback to ensure high-quality execution and professionalism. Family-Facing Operations Ensure family-facing operational processes are clear, consistent, and responsive, including registration, attendance communication, and daily logistics. Partner with the Manager of Family Engagement to support enrollment, onboarding, and family communication systems. Support the resolution of operational concerns raised by families in a timely and professional manner. Budget, Vendors & Resources Support campus-level budget tracking and purchasing in alignment with network and school priorities. Ensure responsible stewardship of school resources and supplies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in school operations, nonprofit operations, or organizational management. Strong knowledge of school-based compliance, systems, and operational best practices. Demonstrated success managing teams and complex workflows. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Strong alignment with Ethos Classical’s mission and commitment to operational excellence in service of scholars.
