This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational judgment, cross-functional communication, and the ability to translate strategic objectives into disciplined execution on the plant floor and across supporting functions. The ideal candidate is a driven operator who balances strategic vision with the ability to personally drive tactical initiatives, remove barriers, and ensure results. This leader will work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, safety, engineering, finance, and sales to deliver operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities, others may be assigned. Operational Leadership Own end-to-end operational performance aligning company objectives with daily execution. Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations aligned with company quality standards and regulatory requirements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost, quality, and service. Ensure operations delivers end results that are consistent with the original goals, scope, and intended outcomes. Strategic Execution Translate executive strategy into clear operational plans, priorities, and measurable objectives. Drive execution of tactical initiatives to meet production, cost, and service goals. Balance short-term execution needs with long-term scalability and growth. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with all departments to align operations with business objectives. Serve as a key communicator across departments to ensure clarity, accountability, and alignment. Resolve cross-functional issues that impact operational performance. People & Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop operations and plant leadership teams. Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for results. Establish structured training paths with documented progress to ensure consistent execution and scalability. Performance & Metrics Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity. Use data to identify issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Report operational performance to executive leadership with clarity and accuracy. Requirements 8+ years of progressive operations or manufacturing leadership experience. Proven experience in a hands-on leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, preferably in chemicals, cleaning products, or similar regulated environments. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive execution. Excellent communication skills—able to align executives, managers, and frontline teams. Strong strategic thinking paired with practical, tactical execution. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA a plus). Experience scaling operations in a growing manufacturing organization. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience working closely with supply chain and quality functions. Leadership Profile The successful Director of Operations at Midlab will be: Hands-on and decisive.
