Description

The Director of Operations will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical managers across a subset of UBMD Practices. The Director will oversee the management of clinics and act as a resource to clinic managers, physicians, and staff. Travel to each location will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in a clinical operations leadership role.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
    Experience: Minimum of 5 years managing in a clinical setting. Must be willing to adapt to an ever-changing healthcare field, effectively communicate with co-workers, and project a professional image.

Responsibilities
  • Work with clinical managers to optimize workflow and improve policies and procedures, resulting in higher-quality patient care.
  • Mentor and train staff, serving as a resource to assist clinic managers as needed.
  • Assist in managing and leading a team of clinical operations staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • In conjunction with clinic managers, provide oversight of staff and assist in addressing staff performance issues. Build and maintain relationships with healthcare partners such as hospitals, affiliated entities, and other UBMD practices.
  • Work collaboratively with hospital management and affiliated entities in managing clinical programs across organizations.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvement; work with clinical management to implement positive changes.
  • Work collaboratively with the billing and accounting departments to improve the quality of billing information generated from clinical operations, as well as to strengthen revenue cycle outcomes, including collections, denials, and write-offs.
  • Work with appropriate supervisors to ensure that clinics are compliant with quality assurance, OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, safety, and other policies.
  • Manage EMR and practice management software across practices, addressing associated issues. Assess current technologies/resources and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate special projects (e.g., facilities issues, new service opportunities, and other projects as necessary).
  • Coordinate marketing and outreach initiatives.
