ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The Wingstop Director of Operations must possess the following competencies:

  • Customer Focus: A deep commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences, handling customer feedback, and continuously improving service standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated credentials and experience are required:

  • Proven experience in restaurant management, ideally with at least 2 years of experience in a Director role.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Bachelors in Business Management, Hospitality or related field is a plus.

PHYSICAL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements for the Director of Operations role are:

  • General Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, or move around for extended periods during meetings, presentations, or line work. This includes the ability to bend frequently.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in typing and using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.
  • Visual and Auditory Acuity: Ability to read printed and digital documents. Clear hearing for phone and in-person communication.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to [50 pounds], such as food products.
  • Travel: Frequent travel to multiple locations (>75%)

Time requirements for the Director of Operations role are:

  • Availability to primarily work during areas of business growth, including nights and weekends.
  • 50-55 hour per week time commitment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Wingstop Director of Operations is essential in ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all locations, maintaining the brand’s reputation and guest loyalty. They optimize profitability by managing budgets, costs, and operational efficiency, directly impacting the bottom line. This role also involves leading and developing strong teams, fostering a high-performance culture that drives employee satisfaction and retention. By executing strategic growth initiatives and maintaining a focus on customer experience, they play a critical role in expanding the business and ensuring long-term success. Their leadership is key to achieving operational excellence and driving company profitability.

  • Operations & Customer Experience: Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple locations, ensuring consistency. Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and customer service excellence.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop district leaders, fostering a high-performance culture, effective training, and continuous talent growth.
  • Financial Management & Strategic Growth: Manage budgets, P&L, and cost control strategies to optimize profitability. Collaborate with leadership on growth strategies and drive continuous operational improvement across locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

These duties support a Wingstop Director of Operation’s success within the organization:

  • Drive Growth & Profitability: Regularly review and adjust the budget and financial reports to ensure cost goals are met. Implement strategies to optimize labor, track performance against financial goals, and ensure key profit-driving actions are executed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Conduct daily operational reviews to ensure adherence to brand standards. Regularly assess performance metrics, respond to customer feedback, and implement action plans to improve service quality.
  • Lead & Develop Teams: Hold weekly one-on-one coaching sessions with District Managers, ensuring consistent training and development. Work with HR and other departments to fill staffing gaps quickly and develop training programs that align with business needs.
  • Foster Guest Satisfaction & Compliance: Address and resolve guest concerns within 24 hours, ensuring that guest satisfaction is prioritized.
  • Collaborate & Align: Actively participate in weekly leadership meetings, contribute to discussions, and align team goals with corporate objectives. Share progress updates and ensure all team members are informed and working toward shared priorities.
  • Culture Keeper: Foster a recognition culture, coach privately and praise publicly, and promote healthy competition and collaboration across locations.
