POSITION SUMMARY

Cogir is seeking an experienced Director of Payroll to lead the payroll function during a period of accelerated company expansion. This leader will be responsible for managing all aspects of multi state payroll operations and compliance overseeing a team of specialists and ensuring payroll accuracy and timely delivery across all locations.
Given our rapid growth we’re looking for a payroll expert with experience supporting large high growth organizations who can proactively identify issues streamline operations and bring best practices to scale the function effectively.
Cogir recently implemented Paylocity as our HR and payroll platform. The Director of Payroll must possess strong integration experience and the technical acumen to partner cross functionally and ask the right questions when troubleshooting rolling out updates or driving process enhancements.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related field required
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive payroll experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Experience leading payroll in large multi site organizations experiencing high growth
  • Hands on experience with Paylocity especially in system integration troubleshooting and process configuration
  • Expertise in SOX compliance payroll controls and multi state payroll regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP pivot tables)
  • Proven ability to operate in fast paced high volume environments
  • Experience in healthcare senior living or related sectors preferred
  • Excellent leadership communication and cross functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day to day payroll processing ensuring timely accurate execution in accordance with SOX compliance
  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll related questions issues and escalations
  • Collaborate with HR Finance and IT teams to ensure data is integrated properly between systems
  • Troubleshoot Paylocity platform issues and identify opportunities for process optimization or automation
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Perform audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead year end payroll processes including W2 processing and tax reporting
  • Oversee payroll reporting and analytics providing insights to leadership
  • Evaluate and improve payroll processes documentation and controls
  • Hire develop and mentor payroll team members holding them accountable for performance and goals
