Job Description The Director of People & Culture will lead the Human Resources strategy and operations for the three luxury properties under the Anantara Maldives cluster — Anantara Dhigu, Anantara Veli, and Naladhu Private Island. This role plays a key part in shaping the company culture, enhancing employee engagement, developing local talent, and aligning people strategy with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a Maldivian People & Culture leader with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, a passion for people, and strong compliance knowledge of Maldivian labor law. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a cluster-level People & Culture strategy aligned with the brand’s business objectives and resort goals. Partner with Complex General Manager and Executive Committees of each property to ensure HR initiatives support operational excellence and team engagement. Promote a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven culture across all properties. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Oversee recruitment and selection of top talent for all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with brand standards and diversity goals. Manage manpower planning, succession planning, and internal mobility across the three resorts. Build strong relationships with hospitality schools and recruitment agencies to attract top international and local talent. Learning & Development Champion continuous learning through robust training programs and leadership development initiatives. Support line managers in building their teams’ capability and career progression. Ensure compliance training (health, safety, legal, service standards) is effectively implemented. Employee Relations & Engagement Foster a culture of open communication, trust, and recognition. Oversee welfare and engagement programs to ensure a positive and inclusive working environment for all team members. Manage grievance and disciplinary processes fairly and consistently across all properties. Compensation & Benefits Oversee salary and benefits structures in line with market competitiveness and brand guidelines. Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and cost effectiveness. Participate in annual budgeting and manpower cost forecasting. Compliance & Administration Ensure adherence to Maldivian labor law, immigration, and visa regulations. Maintain accurate People & Culture documentation, policies, and audit compliance across all three properties. Liaise with external stakeholders including government authorities and local communities. Corporate Social Responsibility & Culture Promote resort-led CSR and sustainability initiatives aligned with Minor Hotels’ “People & Planet” values. Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Qualifications Must be a Maldivian national (as required by Maldivian Law). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a Director or Cluster role within luxury hospitality or resort operations. Proven experience managing multi-property HR functions. Strong understanding of Maldives labor regulations and expatriate employment requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural sensitivity. Experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday, Fusion or similar).
