Description DUTIES: Responsible for crafting compelling imagery that aligns with the director’s vision and elevates the narrative through expert use of camera techniques, lighting, and composition. Assist in film production initiatives, by deciding what camera equipment and assists to use, set up the lighting of each shot, assess the staging of the scene, and decide on the final appearance of the footage in collaboration with the Film Director. Meeting with the Film Director to discuss the visual style and storyboarding shots. Work with the Film Director and Producer to plan each scene and scope out the most effective camera angles. Operate audio/video recording equipment as needed. Participate in brainstorming for video projects. Choose the appropriate lenses, cameras, and lighting for the project. Help create set designs and select props that support the visual look of the film. Work with the camera and light crews during production to capture the desired footage and adjust the color and exposure as needed. Direct projects as needed. Collaborate with different departments to complete important projects and initiatives in a timely and efficient manner. Work with the Film Directors to ensure that all productions are aligned with the vision/direction of the department. Stay current with new technologies in the field through research, conferences, podcasts, webinars, and trade publications. Assist with editing when needed. 5% domestic and 5% international travel required. Hybrid role with remote work permitted one (1) day per week within a reasonable commuting distance of Beaver Falls, PA. SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday LOCATION: NursingABC, Inc. d/b/a Portage Learning, 2679 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 Requirements REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in photography, film production, cinematography, digital media or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Photographer, Filmmaker, Video Editor, or related role where required experience gained. ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of stated experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and two (2) years of stated experience. SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Film production, specializing in directing educational content and video advertising. Using audio-visual editing software including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve with high proficiency. Creating graphics and using Lightroom and Photoshop photo imaging software. Matching and detecting differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness (visual color discrimination). Industry-standard camera systems (RED, ARRI, Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, etc.). Expert and current knowledge in industry standard camera, lighting, and audio-visual systems.
