EDUCATION, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential - A good level of education, including a good standard of English and maths. Professional qualification or significant experience in management, particularly in the sports or non-profit sectors.
Desirable - A relevant degree or master’s degree (e.g., Public Health, Physical Education, Sport Science) and/or professional qualification in physical activity, wellbeing, or public health. Designated Safeguarding Lead training or willingness to complete.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential - Extensive experience in physical activity, public health, wellbeing, or a related field, with a proven track record of strategic leadership, program management, and partnership building. Knowledge of current UK government health and physical activity guidelines and initiatives.
Desirable - In-depth understanding of public health policies, physical activity guidelines, wellbeing frameworks, and related research. Knowledge of the latest trends and evidence in promoting physical activity and mental well-being. Knowledge of Active Partnerships and their role in convening the physical activity sector.

PERSONAL SKILLS

Essential - Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of professionals. Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

This role will be responsible for leading our strategic approach across community and health system, demonstrating the value of physical activity and movement to improve health and social wellbeing outcomes.
As a convenor, brokering cross-sector relationships within the education sector, as well as youth and community settings, you will play a crucial role in to building and develop trusting relationship across multiple sectors.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate is tasked with supporting the development and implementation of the partnership’s organisational strategy, providing leadership, and guiding the direction to the wider team.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Support financial planning through budget preparation and budget setting, maintaining a strategic level of awareness of the organisation’s financial position.
Provide support and advice on operational contracts.
Secure funding and resources for physical activity and wellbeing initiatives through partnerships, grants, and sponsorships. Ensuring monitoring and reporting outcomes to funders are implemented.
