POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to lead strategic sourcing and supply chain operations. This role will focus on both domestic and international procurement with a specialization in commercial doors and related products. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in global sourcing, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a background in construction materials—particularly commercial millwork or architectural doors and frames.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in commercial millwork, building materials, or construction products
  • Proven experience with international sourcing, ideally in Asia (China, Vietnam, Malaysia), Eastern Europe, or South America
  • Deep understanding of white-label and OEM manufacturing models
  • Familiarity with U.S. fire-rated standards and building codes (e.g., NFPA, UL)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed (10–20%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with project-based or custom commercial millwork
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, and customs compliance
  • Procurement certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) or Lean/Six Sigma training
  • Fluency in a second language (Mandarin, Spanish, etc.) is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Source and procure commercial doors, frames, and millwork products from domestic and international suppliers
  • Manage the full purchasing cycle: supplier qualification, negotiations, PO issuance, logistics, and delivery tracking
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships, especially with overseas manufacturers and freight/logistics providers
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives and vendor consolidation strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to align purchasing with project timelines
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations, customs documentation, and Incoterms
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including development of alternate sourcing strategies
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage JIT purchasing to balance availability and inventory efficiency
  • Implement procurement best practices, ERP workflows, and supplier scorecards
  • Support new product development by sourcing suppliers who meet quality and technical standards
