TRANSCORE (TRN), A SUBSIDIARY OF ST ENGINEERING, IS SEEKING A FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF PROCUREMENT TO JOIN OUR TEAMS IN HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA; HOUSTON, TEXAS; OR NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.

TransCore provides highly engineered and customized products and services to the transportation industry for toll collection and other traffic management needs. Its products and solutions include an integration of multiple, sophisticated hardware and software technologies which enables more efficient transportation for consumers which in turn lessens the impact on the environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to oversee our company’s procurement activities. The Director’s responsibilities include developing procurement strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, building collaboration with the Company’s manager and employees to ensure an on-going understanding of their supply needs, overseeing the procurement team in their daily activities and leading the effort to continuously improving the Company’s procurement policies and systems.
Successful candidates should be able to manage and optimize procurement activities and processes. Outstanding candidates should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible partnerships with suppliers.

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to improve quality and lower
  • Analyze company spend and negotiate financially favorable corporate-wide purchase agreements with vendors.
  • Oversee vendor performance – KPI’s, quality, contractual obligations.
  • Lead and motivate the procurement team.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines,
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related
  • Coordinating with project teams to determine, manage, and support their supply
  • Continuously improve purchasing systems and
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and services, and the market, to ensure best value and practices are maintained.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in business administration or a related
  • Experience as a procurement manager or in a similar position 7 years minimum
  • Unquestionable integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving
  • Strong collaboration, partnership, and relationship building skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with significant demonstrated cost savings.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and experience to drive continuous

  • Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain
  • Supervisory and management
  • Knowledgeable of procurement software systems which create efficiencies and cost- effectiveness. Costpoint experience a plus.
