Description

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned design leader with a proven track record of building and scaling design teams while delivering exceptional user-centered experiences. This role requires someone to balance providing the strategic vision for design with hands-on execution to ensure alignment across marketing and product design to create seamless end-to-end journeys. The right candidate will have a passion for mentorship, a strong collaborative spirit, and the ability to champion multi-disciplinary design in a dynamic, fast-growth environment.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE WE NEED:

PadSplit is hiring a Director of Design (Product & Marketing) to lead and elevate our design efforts across product and marketing, ensuring a seamless and impactful user experience from first engagement to long-term retention. This hybrid role combines hands-on design work with strategic leadership, shaping our brand, refining our design systems, and mentoring a talented team of product and marketing designers.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Strategic Visioning: Develop and communicate the design vision by creating a strategic roadmap that aligns with company goals and user needs.
  • Designer Mentorship: Mentor and coach designers on their craft, methodology, and career growth, providing feedback and support for ongoing improvement.
  • Hands-On Execution: Lead design execution for high-priority initiatives in both product (e.g., feature research and UI design) and marketing (e.g., digital campaigns and presentations).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Engineering, to ensure cohesive brand and user experiences.
  • Brand Refinement: Refine and evolve PadSplit’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints, from marketing materials to product interfaces.
  • System Scalability: Enhance the current design system by creating component libraries, style guides, and documentation to support a consistent end-user experience.
  • User Advocacy: Advocate for human-centered design in leadership discussions, promoting the value of qualitative research and customer insights.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze and review user feedback and data to inform design decisions and prioritize feature improvements or new projects.
  • Feedback Facilitation: Facilitate design critiques and feedback sessions, fostering a collaborative and iterative design culture.
  • Industry Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and integrate best practices to keep PadSplit’s design and branding at the forefront of the market.
