THE ROLE & THE TEAM

This is a Director-level role within Zalando’s Product Management organisation, strategically carved out to provide dedicated leadership and deeper focus on the overall Transactional scope. This critical area spans the entire purchase experience, from the cart (with an emphasis on upsells) through the checkout with its various integrations, extending into the post-purchase journey that spans the lifecycle of an order, including its potential returns and refunds. For post-purchase in particular, this includes actively seeking re-engagement opportunities, improving parcel tracking, and exploring top-line revenue opportunities in places that are less obvious. The role also oversees our Transactional Platform Foundations, which manages the full transactional Volume of Zalando, across 25 active markets.
You will lead two Senior Principals who lead purchase and post-purchase, respectively, who in turn work with product managers and focus within their respective domains. While the people leadership responsibilities of this role are solely for all product colleagues within Transactions, you will work closely with approximately 60 engineers and supporting designers, analysts and other functions that solely support the Transactions team. You will also collaborate extensively with a wide network of stakeholders across Zalando, including Markets, Finance, Payments, Logistics, Assortment, Customer Care, Fulfillment, Legal and various others, navigating a complex landscape of operational and technical domains.

  • Lead the charge to drive continual impact in a business-critical domain, balancing offence with defense to deliver long-term impact
  • Drive both a customer-, commercial and engagement-centric approach across the purchase and post-purchase experiences.

  • Innovate and enhance the customer experience in transactional areas.
  • Navigate technical platforms and regulatory complexities with confidence.
