JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Programs and Services is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of assigned programs, with a primary focus on youth services. This role ensures high-quality service delivery in alignment with agency goals, contractual obligations, and community needs. The Director also plays a key role in cross-agency collaboration and organizational leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in social sciences, health sciences, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in program management, preferably within the community social services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth and integrated service models; clinical background and familiarity with team-based or stepped care approaches are assets.
  • In-depth knowledge of youth services in BC, including access to mental health care, substance use services, primary care, and social support.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Program Oversight: Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing programs. Serve as the primary liaison with Foundry BC, Interior Health, MCFD, and other key partners.
  • Integrated Service Delivery: Oversee the daily operations of the Foundry Penticton Centre, ensuring seamless, youth-centered services for individuals aged 12–24. Provide leadership across clinical, operational, and financial domains.
  • Organizational Leadership: Contribute to agency-wide strategic planning and decision-making as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Support the development of long-term goals and policies.
  • Governance & Accountability: Establish and maintain standards, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks in alignment with agency policies and Executive Director directives.
  • Advisory Role: Provide expert guidance to the Executive Director on cross-functional program issues and emerging service needs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support Team Leaders and staff to ensure effective service delivery, professional development, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate service delivery by staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with best practices.
  • Issue Resolution: Address complex or sensitive issues involving staff, clients, or the public, and support conflict resolution and crisis response.
  • Cross-Agency Collaboration: Participate in interdepartmental initiatives and contribute to organizational development projects as assigned.
