Description TESSERE is looking to hire a Director of Projects to supervise a design staff and ensure that targets are being met. This person needs to have excellent leadership and teamwork skills as they will be in charge of a group of multi-design disciplines. TESSERE’s Director of Projects work directly with the VP of Operations to ensure efficient project completion along with employee-owner growth and development. The ideal candidate will have significant experience within the architecture and design industry or related field. Responsibilities Organizing, planning, and managing the daily tasks and operations of the division. Evaluating the division's performance and identifying areas of improvement. Working with the financial department to plan and develop your division's annual budget and review monthly. Working directly with the clients to identify projects and develop fees and scopes for those projects. For the division, oversee the planning of the project budget, milestones, and schedule and track project performance accordingly. For the division, oversee project coordination and documentation, including collaboration with engineering disciplines and vendors, reviewing and editing specifications, leading project meetings, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing changes and pay applications. Report project completion for billing, approve invoices, and lead any necessary collections activities. Provide supervision and guidance to others assigned to facilitate the delivery of a project. Ensure client satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships, understanding client needs, and their division is delivering high-quality results. Sign and be professionally liable for contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and risks are managed effectively. Examples of job responsibilities are not intended to be all inclusive. Solid communication and team working skills. Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb steps or ladder, and tolerate airborne environmental nuisances associated with building construction sites. Ability to visually survey, measure and assess project site, site elements, and project while under construction. An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Requirements Experience and Credentials A bachelor's degree in business, project management, or an architectural field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in an architectural or design industry. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
