TITLE:                        Director of QE & PM – RPM                         FLSA: Exempt UPDATED:                 02/11/2026                                                      DIVISION:      G2M    REPORTS TO:           VP of Operations                                          GRADE:      Summary The Director of QE & PM – RPM is responsible for leading the Quotation Engineering and Project Management teams in Florence and Brighton. This role ensures the accurate evaluation, pricing, and successful execution of all new machine projects for Reactive Processing (RPM), delivering maximum value to both the customer and the organization. Essential Functions * Lead and develop a team of Quotation Engineers and Project Managers supporting Krauss Maffei’s RPM & tooling technologies. * Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance to deliver accurate, competitive, and on-time proposals. * Direct all quotation and proposal activities for capital equipment projects, ensuring a smooth transition from quotation through clean handoff to Project Management. * Work cross-functionally with KMT, Viersen, and KMI, to drive process improvements and optimize communication, ensuring accurate and timely quotations. * Oversee all new equipment project management activities from project kickoff through customer acceptance and handoff to DSS for warranty support. * Ensure projects are executed in alignment with defined scope, budget, and schedule through regular performance reviews and data-driven oversight. * Lead structured project reviews to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when necessary. * Establish and refine structured pre-installation and post-mortem review processes to improve site preparedness, capture lessons learned, and drive continuous operational improvement. * Establish clear communication expectations and accountability across departments to ensure seamless coordination with the DSS team during onsite installations * Balance team workloads to optimize performance and responsiveness across quotation and project management functions. * Ensure complete, accurate order-to-invoice documentation and timely order confirmations to customers. * Review and approve quotation worksheets prior to customer presentation. * Recruit, train, mentor, and develop departmental staff. * Establish and refine processes aligned with departmental and organizational goals. * Develop and monitor KPIs to measure effectiveness, drive accountability, and improve performance. * Implement standardized documentation, timelines, and checklists. * Perform additional duties as assigned by management. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines which create low-moderate noise.   Physical Demands   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Actual working hours may vary based on needs of customers. Must be willing to work long hours as dictated by the situation. This will periodically include evenings and weekends.   Travel   Travel is moderate, roughly 30%, and is primarily local and during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.  Travel to Germany or other international locations possible for training/conferences.    Required Education and Experience * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business discipline * Minimum of 6 years of experience in quoting, estimating and configuring capital proposals * Prior leadership experience in an international organization * Experience working cross-functionally (Finance, Sales, Engineering) and accomplishing sales objectives while managing multiple projects and competing priorities * Strong communication, strategic and analytical skills Preferred Education and Experience   * MBA or similar advanced degree * Prior experience with machinery and equipment manufacturing   Krauss-Maffei Corporation is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
