Description
About Netskope Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security. Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive. The Central Quality team is the backbone that oversees shared quality processes, metrics, tooling and environments across the whole engineering organization. We are looking for a Director of Quality Engineering to lead the US based part of the Central Quality organization. In this role you’ll be responsible for tracking product quality across engineering and driving improvements in testing, releasing and quality reporting. You’ll report directly to the head of quality, and work closely with your counterpart in India to drive engineering-wide improvements. Additionally you will manage three US base teams responsible for all the shared test environments, and test automation and reporting services utilized by the whole engineering organization. This is a high-impact technical leadership role perfect for a hands-on seasoned QE leader who has experience running large quality engineering and tool development organizations. What's in it for you Opportunity to make a difference. We’re at an inflection point where our existing quality and release processes and testing infrastructure won’t scale much longer. You’ll get to influence and drive the implementation of the next generation processes and tooling, and change how software is tested and released at a multi-billion dollar company. Additionally you will manage a mature test tooling organization consisting of two distinct teams, each led by established managers. You’ll have an opportunity to direct the growth of the test tooling organization to address the future challenges in a rapidly growing company. What you will be doing Take ownership of release and quality processes to improve them. Define and develop automated quality reporting workflows that work across a variety of product development teams. Improve release management processes. Drive the implementation of next-generation test automation and smoke testing frameworks and test reporting systems. Provide day-to-day management and mentorship to 2 or more engineering managers/senior managers. Foster a culture of technical excellence and growth, adopting latest new tools, technologies and development processes like spec-driven development. Oversee the long term testing / pre-production environment strategy, ensuring high availability and stability for testing environments used by the entire company. Work closely with multiple QE and development teams, PMO, engineering management and product management. Required skills and experience 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in test automation and tooling. 10+ years of management experience, with at least 3+ years experience managing other managers (Director level experience). Proven experience running Engineering Productivity, Internal Developer Platform, or Tooling development teams. You understand the unique challenges of treating developers and quality engineers as your primary customer. Strong background in building scalable test automation frameworks (Python, Go, or Java). Strong background in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and how test infrastructure integrates with them. Experience overseeing OPS/SRE functions, specifically regarding the management of complex, distributed test environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with a globally distributed team across different time zones (US, EU, India, Taiwan).
