We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Remote Sensing to lead the development and management of an organization’s external data ecosystem. This role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and securing satellite and aerial data sources to unlock new product capabilities and improve operational outcomes. You will work closely with internal teams to translate customer needs into data-driven solutions, establish partnerships with leading providers, and ensure data decisions deliver measurable impact. The position requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to operate at the intersection of product, business, and sensing technology. You will represent the organization externally, building trust with data partners and driving forward the organization’s mission to create actionable intelligence for critical infrastructure resilience. \n Accountabilities: Identify and evaluate new satellite and aerial data sources, assessing impact on product outcomes and operational performance. Build and manage relationships with data providers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure strategic partnerships. Translate new data capabilities into product unlocks, improved accuracy, and cost efficiency. Maintain a forward-looking perspective on the external data landscape, including technology upgrades, regulatory risks, and commercial trends. Ensure data acquisitions and decisions align with customer value, operational outcomes, and product strategy. Represent the organization externally as a trusted technical counterpart within the remote sensing and climate data ecosystem. Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure rapid integration of new data into production and ongoing innovation. Requirements: 8+ years of experience in product management, partnerships, business strategy, or management consulting; EO experience is a plus. Strong critical thinking, analytical rigor, and product intuition. Proven experience leading teams through change, ambiguity, and new initiatives. Excellent executive communication, able to clearly convey technical and strategic concepts. Familiarity with remote sensing domains such as hyperspectral, thermal, SAR, or long-wave IR is advantageous. Experience with utilities, grid reliability, wildfire intelligence, or regulated infrastructure markets is a plus. Background in data licensing, commercial strategy, or platform partnerships for AI/ML products is desirable.
