SUMMARY

The Director of RCM will provide strategic direction for the practice’s financial policies and revenue cycle operations. This role ensures accurate and timely billing, collections, and reimbursement, while optimizing revenue performance and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Director will lead and mentor the RCM team, collaborate across departments, and drive process improvements to achieve key performance goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive revenue cycle management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or a specialty practice.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), payer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated success in personnel management and creating a positive workplace environment.
  • Experience with Nexgen is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide necessary oversight for the complete financial operations within our practice.
  • Facilitate effective processes to ensure all revenue cycle functions, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, collections, and denials management are performed at optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee financial reporting, A/R performance, and revenue trends; implement strategies to improve financial outcomes.
  • Monitor compliance with payer regulations, coding requirements, and federal/state laws.
  • Implement technologies to improve billing efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct audits, monitor metrics, and drive accountability for benchmarks.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate RCM staff, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
