The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Director of Risk and Safety Mid-Atlantic Region to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Hunt Valley, MD. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position. Responsibilities: Develop positive relationships with internal associates, clients, and carriers Reduce loss costs associated with claims to protect the people, property, public perception and profits of our clients Function as a resource/point of contact for safety issues utilizing resources from internal team members, carriers and third-party technical expert partners Collaborate with insurance representatives to provide a shared service plan of safety efforts Assist in investigation and prevention of major incidents and OSHA matters Analyze claims trends and client’s safety efforts to determine root cause improvement Participate in developing risk management and safety strategies with insurance representatives and clients Develop, facilitate, and present effective safety training and resources to educate our clients Conduct on-site visits to analyze clients’ operations, exposures, and controls. Prepare and/or present reports for Account Executives and clients Keep informed of emerging issues and technologies through periodicals, seminars, membership organizations and carrier meetings Maintain a working knowledge of insurance coverages and carrier service offerings Maintain basic information on clients’ operations, exposure, controls and on-going safety efforts and results Document activity on agency and account management system Practice strict confidentiality controls for client and agency data Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred. 7+ years of experience in risk control, loss prevention, safety or commercial insurance required. Professional designations (ARM, CSP, CRM, CPCU, etc.) preferred. Property Casualty License a plus Benefits: Compensation: $165,000-$175,000/yr.
