Description The Director of Rooms provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all guest-rooms functions, including Front Office, Reservations, and Housekeeping, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm welcome, seamless stay, and lasting impression. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, this role drives a culture of hospitality, accountability, and collaboration while delivering top-line revenue growth, cost control, and brand-standard compliance. The Director of Rooms leads a talented team to create a clean, comfortable, and memorable experience that reflects Avion Hospitality’s core values of Trust, Transparency, and Results. Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Direct and motivate the Front Office, Reservations, and Housekeeping teams, fostering a service-first, guest-centered culture. Champion a warm, vibrant welcome for every guest, ensuring an upbeat and professional arrival experience. Build team engagement through coaching, recognition, and professional development opportunities. Operational Excellence Oversee daily operations of Front Office, Reservations, and Housekeeping to maintain brand standards, cleanliness, and efficiency. Monitor room inventory, occupancy, and rate strategies in coordination with Revenue Management to maximize profitability. Ensure key control procedures, safety protocols, and guest privacy standards are rigorously followed. Conduct regular property inspections of guest rooms and public areas to guarantee readiness and brand compliance. Financial & Administrative Management Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts for Front Office, Reservations, and Housekeeping. Track labor productivity, operating expenses, and capital needs to meet financial goals. Oversee accurate reporting, payroll, and purchasing processes in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards. Guest Experience & Quality Assurance Respond promptly to guest feedback, concerns, or special requests, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up. Monitor and improve guest service scores through proactive service initiatives and cross-departmental training. Partner with the AGM and leadership team to implement programs that elevate guest satisfaction. Collaboration & Communication Maintain strong relationships with Sales, Revenue Management, and other departments to ensure smooth, guest-focused operations. Participate in weekly executive and departmental meetings and serve as Manager on Duty (M.O.D.) as scheduled. Requirements Education & Experience Minimum 6 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, with significant oversight of Front Office and Housekeeping. 4-year degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cross-departmental operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems (PMS). Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong financial acumen to analyze data and drive strategic decisions.
