Job Details Job Location: Addison, TX 75001 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary Job Shift: Any Job Title JOB TITLE: Director of Safety DEPERTMENT: 1120 GRADE: Exempt STATUS: Full-Time REPORTS TO: President and CEO Position Summary Responsible for the establishment of a dynamic safety culture and the development and execution of the safety strategies and initiatives necessary to position Million Air Dallas towards the achievement of a world- class safety system. Essential Functions Adhere to General Work Requirements Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, organizational standards, safety, security, and quality in all Company operations. Responsible for the establishment of strategic priorities, departmental goals and objectives, schedule, and action plans for company safety and emergency response plan activities based upon requirements from regulatory agencies, overall business plan, and top priority issues. Responsible for the evaluation of operational practices and procedures relative to their impact on safety and recommend changes to practices and procedures to improve the safety environment. Responsible for providing the executive management team with independent and objective analysis of trends and activities that may have an impact on safety and on the effectiveness of current safety risk controls. Responsible for the administration and oversight of the Company Safety Management System in accordance with the FAA Safety Management System Voluntary Program, ICAO Annex 19 Framework, and industry audit standards (i.e., ISBAO Stage III, ARGUS Platinum, EJM, etc.) Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Internal Evaluation Program and Audit Programs. Responsible for the management of the company's Emergency Response Plan. Responsible for coordinating with and overseeing any safety associated third-party vendor, including implementation of vendor services, relationship & contract management. Responsible for the implementation and management of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) Assist in the administration of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance – FOQA and data analysis. Responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a safety reporting system that provides for a timely free flow of safety-related information through safety publications and safety meetings/presentations. Responsible for investigating all accidents, incidents, and hazards involving Company personnel, premises, or equipment and performing a root cause analysis to ensure that the appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented to preclude recurrence. Responsible for maintaining a database of safety reports, identified hazards and audit findings to monitor and analyze trends and corrective action effectiveness. Responsible for the development/revision of training programs/materials for safety and emergency response programs. Responsible for the administration and management of all internal and external audits and audit certifications (i.e., FAA, ARGUS, ISBAO, etc.) Responsible for maintaining a close liaison with the FAA, NTSB, and industry safety organizations and associations. Ensure the retention and storage of documentation and paperwork for safety programs and activities required for fact-checking, future reference, audits, and general. Successful achievement of departmental and/or individual KPIs as assigned. Other duties on responsibilities as assigned. Key skills and competencies Thorough knowledge of safety management system principles and investigative techniques with the ability to conduct a root cause analysis and develop and implement corrective action plans. Thorough knowledge of federal aviation regulations applicable to 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier operations and NTSB regulations and protocols. Thorough knowledge of FAA SAS attributes and data collection tools. Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills for technical writing, accident, and incident investigation reporting, and for internal and external communication. Training skills necessary to provide instructions and education to all employees on safety-related topics and issues. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with co-workers, business partners, and regulatory agencies. Working knowledge of corporate/business aviation current practices and procedures. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal department heads, external vendors, clients, and regulatory entities. Working knowledge of aircraft systems and performance criteria. Basic knowledge of: All FARs applicable to company operations and industry standard requirements General reference knowledge of aircraft systems and the location of components Flight Operations Manual and aircraft Standard Operating Procedures Current aviation safety practices Ability to meet deadlines. Good verbal, presentation, and written communication skills for communication with employees and outside company or agency representatives. Demonstrate planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate and prioritize workload Research and analytical skills necessary to look up and interpret Federal Aviation Regulations, industry-standard requirements, company practices, and other information needed for developing recommendations for action.
