Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities Job Description At Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, the Director of Sales is accountable for generating budgeted revenue on an established account base through personal selling and the management of at least three (3) direct reports. This position is responsible for the training, development and performance of the direct reporting personnel. When applicable, it represents the Director of Sales & Marketing in their absence. It assists in making operational decisions on business within broad parameters, and actively participates in the Resort’s revenue strategy meetings What you will be doing: Manage the day-to-day activities of sales managers and administrative roles Full responsibility for generating budgeted revenues Identify and target prospective customers and new business development strategies Organize and execute sales calls and attend industry events and tradeshows as required Keep accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all potential business within established timeline for response and follow up Develop ongoing relationships with key customers and industry leaders, both local and US-based Prepare production reports as required by Director of Sales and Marketing Execute strategies outlined in the Resort’s business plan, and modify/update as needed according to trends and market conditions Participate and host site inspections, FAMs and industry trade shows Schedule and effectively manage business trips and appointments within assigned markets and within assigned budgeted expenses Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess demand and implement appropriate rate and deployment strategies to achieve short and long-term goals Qualifications QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree is an asset. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior sales management capacity within the hospitality industry or related tourism field. Revenue management experience essential. Excellent communications skills - interpersonal, written and public/media relations. A proven record of results-oriented leadership and team development. Computer literacy required in at least the following programs: MS Office and Property Manage PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Flexible and long hours sometimes required Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Ability to stand for extended times Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
