Bloom Engineering Company, Inc., headquartered in Charleroi, PA, has a hybrid position for a Director of Sales and Business Development responsible for directing/managing the sale of the company’s industrial burners, combustion systems, controls, and refractory products to customers around the world (primarily Europe and the Far East). Specific duties include: (i) identifying functional criteria for combustion systems by interpreting present customer needs and anticipating future market opportunities; (ii) defining product line function requirements to steer the product development process; (iii) determining requirements benefits of a combustion system on an individual application, plant, customer, and/or region to inform evaluation decisions; (iv) participating and/or leading commercial and technical presentations, negotiations, and opportunities discovery activities with key customers around the world; (v) defining marketing communication needs to national and international trade shows, seminars, advertising initiatives, and customer events; (vi) establishing strategic long-term business targets for steel applications; (vii) influencing and setting the strategic direction of the sales, applications engineering, R&D, project engineering, and service engineering operations as needed to achieve customer and product line objectives; (viii) serving as a key member of the root cause team to guide the resolution of customer issues; (ix) performing technical and product training for internal sales personnel; and (x) assessing and establishing market pricing for products based on market conditions and product line objectives.
This is a hybrid position requiring two weeks per month in the Charleroi, PA, office.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering or a directly related field plus 5 years of experience with combustion product development and sales.
The required experience (which can be concurrent) must include five (5) years with each of the following: (i) working with steel customers OEM and end users globally; (ii) heat transfer programs for reheat furnaces; (iii) basic design of process furnaces; (iv) combustion and its effect on product quality; (v) experience selling into the steel markets in Europe; (vi) experience selling into the steel markets in the Far East; and (vii) experience with high efficiency, ultralow NOx products and their applications in the steel industry.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally.
