OPSEU Joint Trusteed Benefit Fund (OJTBF) is an Employee Life and Health Trust (ELHT) operating on a not-for-profit basis since 1996. Operating out of our head office in Toronto, Ontario, OJTBF partners with not-for-profit organizations to provide them with affordable employee benefit plans.

POSITION OVERVIEW

OJTBF is seeking a permanent, full-time Director of Sales and Marketing to develop and implement OJTBF’s sales and marketing programs, initiatives and materials. With a proven track record of sales within the Canadian group insurance industry and an in-depth knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, the Director of Sales and Marketing will grow OJTBF’s block of business and educate our target markets about the benefits of our unique model.

QUALIFICATIONS

· An Undergraduate university degree preferred (or an equivalent combination of education, such as industry relevant designations, and suitable work experience).
· Minimum Experience: 5 years or more related work experience in senior sales roles, including demonstrated and proven, proficient skills in Group insurance sales, client servicing/account management, and brand marketing. Knowledge and experience working closely with the not-for-profit sector and familiarity with collective agreements, the bargaining process and unionized environments will be considered an asset. Candidates without group insurance sales experience will not be considered at this time.
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with videoconferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

    Working conditions: This is a hybrid in-office/home position, subject to operational needs. Travel within Canada may be required on occasion to meet with clients, providers, attend tradeshows, conferences and special functions, or any other necessary meetings as required based on operational needs.

Responsibilities:

· Strategize, develop, implement and maintain OJTBF’s sales and marketing initiatives.
· Identify, penetrate and build suitable market sectors which align with the organization’s business plan and develop strategies for long-term success
· Analyze external market trends and results to ensure OJTBF is well positioned in the marketplace
· Foster and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with our insurance partners and third-party providers.
· Develop and implement targeted direct marketing campaigns and lead generation initiatives
· Achieve sales growth objectives as determined by the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
· Represent the organization at sales presentations to prospective employer groups, Benefits Committees, union local executives, Staff Representatives & Negotiators, as well as at trade shows, conferences, conventions and client functions.
· Manage the process of soliciting prospective partners, review and release of new business proposals and documents relating to new sales.
· Prepare implementation documents, oversee new business plan setup and manage the transition process post-sale to the Service Team for on-going service.
· Maintain relationships and act as a resource to all sold clients to ensure deliverables are being met, and to leverage references for other new business prospects.
· Provide Sales and Marketing updates to the Executive Director and Board of Trustees as required.
· Educate union partners and members about the benefits of OJTBF.
· Manage the Board-allocated Sales and Marketing annual budget and work closely with the Coordinator of Operational Services and Executive Director to ensure objectives are met with the funds allocated.
· Support all other areas within the organization as needed to ensure business objectives are met on a timely basis.
· Act as a resource to Service and Underwriting with respect to market trends and benefit issues.
· Develop and prepare communication pieces, newsletters, website blogs, sales proposal and annual renewal material, and all client-facing brand messaging.
· Manage record keeping and files for all new business sales activities.
· Maintain and update OJTBF’s website, including keeping content current and up-to-date.
· Develop and create an online OJTBF presence, including relevant social media platforms such as but not limited to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram etc.
Maintain personal, professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
