Description JOB SUMMARY The Director of Sales leads all revenue-generating efforts for the hotel, with a primary focus on developing long-term business, strengthening community relationships, and driving extended-stay performance. This role requires a proactive, relationship-driven leader who thrives on building partnerships and executing disciplined sales strategies. Essential Job Functions: Develop and grow business from corporate, government, relocation, project based, and crew accounts to maximize revenue with a focus on extended stay revenue. Conduct proactive sales activities including prospecting, outside sales calls, networking, and participation in community and industry events. Maintain strong account management practices through organized CRM usage, accurate production tracking, and timely follow up. Host property tours, respond to inquiries, and prepare proposals that reflect brand standards and hotel value. Collaborate closely with the General Manager, Regional Director of Sales and Revenue Management to develop and execute strategies that optimize pricing, mix, and length of stay. Participate in the annual budgeting process and contribute to the revenue portion of the hotel budget. Support the development and execution of the Annual Marketing Plan. Maintain strong internal communication with operations, front desk, and housekeeping to ensure seamless service delivery for long term guests. Prepare required sales reports accurately and on schedule. Uphold company policies, standards of appearance, and service expectations. Represent the hotel and Mid-Continent Hospitality with professionalism, integrity, and a positive leadership presence. Travel up to 50% within city limits as required; overnight travel up to 10% for industry or corporate sponsored events. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills/ Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of hospitality and/or property management preferred. Ability to complete tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. Major brand experience required, preferably Marriott. Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Hospitality preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience as in Hospitality Sales and Marketing preferred. Strong mathematical skills to collect, measure, organize and analyze data Valid Driver’s License with MVR in good standing. Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales /catering goals. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to travel long distances via vehicle or air as permitted. Long hours sometimes required, including some nights and weekends.
