Position: Director of Sales Toray Performance Materials Corporation (TPMC) is currently seeking a Director of Sales to join our team. The position is remote and will maintain an office in the Camarillo Facility, reporting the company President.    Company Overview: Toray Performance Materials Corporation (TPMC), a part of the Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) Group, is a leader in development and manufacturing of thermoplastic composites technology and products. TPMC primarily services customers in the consumer recreation, medical, and electronics industries as well as other industrial segments. Growth in these markets and future expanded markets is desired.   Position Overview: The primary purpose of the Director of Sales is to coordinate the functional management and leadership of TPMC product sales activities for domestic and international markets (US, Europe, Asia). The Director of Sales is an external representative of our organization; you must convey a sense of expertise in our products, services and capabilities, as you serve as a key educator to our accounts; identify and pursue growth opportunities for Toray materials and will build and execute a sales plan to drive growth. The position also manages support functions essential to the sales force and customer service productivity. These include planning, reporting, pricing, sales process optimization, sales team, and CSR team reporting. Major Duties and Requirements:  Manage a team of Account Managers focused on driving revenue growth and managing customer interaction in the U.S., Asia and Europe.  In support of Account Managers, help to identify and pursue new sales opportunities within current and potential growth accounts.  Hire and staff the sales team appropriately based on geography, account specifics and revenue growth requirements.  Act as a 'coach' to the sales team, providing guidance on sales tactics, opportunity pursuit, contract negotiation and product and technical support.  Work in tandem with the inside sales team.  Work with the operations and engineering teams regularly to support new and existing programs, manage response to quality and delivery issues, and help to improve overall customer responsiveness.  Lead contract negotiations with customers. Approve pricing and quotations based on the Delegation of Authority established based on Toray corporate requirements.  Develop and manage a sales forecast.  Travel frequently throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe to customer sites to support customer visits with the Account Management team. Hold a valid Passport and Chinese Visa. No less than two international trips to visit and support customers/year.  Collect and report competitive information from the marketplace, including pricing, competitor strengths/weaknesses, etc.  Provide recommendations to Toray for future investments in material or process qualifications on emerging programs.  Operate within budget and achieve sales goals. Motivate and engage team members Supervisory Responsibilities: Building, managing and motivating the sales team is necessary to meet the desired revenue, growth objectives and vision of the company. Strong management and leadership skills. Drive SFDC with key goals and objectives for visibility to the organization. Develop annual sales plans for accounts over $1M Lead ISO efforts within the department Ability to travel (North America, Asia, and Europe), 20 - 30% overnight travel. Experience and/or Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in technical or business-related discipline.  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline.  At least 10 years of experience required with at least 5 years of experience in a sales management role Composite industry or engineered materials industry experience preferred. Consumer industries experience preferred (recreation, medical, consumer electronics, industrial, other) Experience with product pricing, technical sales support, territory management and new account pursuit required. Experience developing and executing tactical and strategic sales plans including growth strategies and account objectives.  Experience in developing and prospecting for new customers in a defined region.  Is disciplined and is a hard worker. Strong leadership skills, staff development and practical application of management principles are required. Strong manufacturing, sales and technical experience required.  Is highly organized with very effective time management skills.  Has an entrepreneurial attitude, decisiveness in initiating actions while focusing on collaborations.  Is energetic and takes initiative.  Is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.  Has professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and equally strong listening skills. Has the ability to work as part of a diverse team comprised of sales, engineering, manufacturing, and finance group leaders.  Has the ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.  Willing to work across multiple time zones.
