Location New York, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: Empowering teams to safeguard our hospital community Director of Security - Weill Cornell Medical Center Weill Cornell Medical Center is seeking an experienced and forward thinking Director of Security to lead security operations across a dynamic, high profile campus that includes roughly 5 million square feet of hospital and support facilities and 1.8 million square feet of residential properties. In this highly visible leadership role, you will oversee a talented team of security professionals, including two Managers, 10 Sergeants, 143 Security Officers, and five Locksmiths, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, faculty, and staff. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Security and Emergency Management, the Director serves as the Vice President’s primary representative at the Weill Cornell campus and plays a key role on the executive leadership team—shaping strategy, elevating security culture, and strengthening partnerships across the medical center. Preferred Criteria: Master’s Degree. MOAB Instructor Certified. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the American Society for Industrial Security Organization (ASIS). Professional Law Enforcement background as a senior management level. NYS Mandated Security Officer Training. Required Criteria: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 10+ years of senior-level security management or law enforcement experience. Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills; executive level communication abilities; and the capacity to align security operations with institutional needs.
