JOB DESCRIPTION

Abbott is seeking a visionary Director of Solutions Architecture to lead innovative technology initiatives within Abbott’s Digital Products and Services group.
As a Director of Solutions Architecture, you will provide strategic leadership and drive the advancement of technology design and innovation across Abbott’s global businesses.
This role requires you to design and implement cutting-edge technology solutions, mentor engineers, and act as a technology evangelist in architectural best practices and ways of working. You will play a pivotal role in influencing Abbott’s next generation of AI/GenAI, Microservices, API, Data, and Cloud Computing technology products and services by providing senior-level technical leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Proven experience in building/implementing high-performance & scalable server-side applications.
• Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, making strategic technical trade-offs, and promoting best practices.
• Advanced-level knowledge of 3 or more of the following technologies: AI/GenAI, mobile/web frameworks, multi-cloud, security and privacy, event streaming, distributed system design, microservices.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
• High standards for quality and attention to detail.
• Self-starter with an enthusiastic personality who can work well both independently and as a collaborative team leader.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience implementing large scale AI/GenAI use cases in production.
• Ability to foster innovative thinking and create a collaborative environment.
• A strong background in development and design is highly desirable.
