Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Director of Spa & Wellness at Four Seasons Hotels is a visionary leader responsible for providing strategic direction, mentorship, and operational excellence across multiple properties in the spa and wellness sector. This role is pivotal in shaping the guest experience, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest level of service and profitability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Guide and mentor the local spa and wellness team, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices to achieve excellence.
  • Provide strategic advice to hotel management on spa trends, innovations, and market opportunities to ensure Four Seasons remains a leader in luxury wellness.

Operational Excellence

  • Conduct audits to identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative spa concepts and treatments, keeping Four Seasons spas at the forefront of the industry.
  • Oversee the cleanliness, functionality, and maintenance of spa facilities, working closely with engineering and housekeeping teams.
  • Ensure all emergency response procedures are in place, with a focus on guest and staff safety.

Team Development

  • Collaborate with Learning Managers and Designated Trainers to deliver best-in-class training programs for spa staff.
  • Supervise and guide professional personnel, including Ayurvedic doctors, wellness practitioners, and external consultants.

Guest Experience

  • Engage with guests to understand their needs and ensure personalized, exceptional experiences that align with Four Seasons’ five-star standards.
  • Advocate for wellness integration within all property departments, enhancing the overall guest journey.

Financial Oversight

  • Lead budget planning, financial forecasting, and performance evaluations for the spa, driving profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, including innovative service menus, retail opportunities, and memberships.
  • Monitor and manage inventories, payroll, and operational expenses to ensure smooth operations and financial success.

Marketing & Brand Representation

  • Collaborate with marketing and public relations teams to promote spa offerings and wellness programs, leveraging trends and guest preferences.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, conferences, and partnerships to strengthen Four Seasons’ position as a leader in spa and wellness.

Innovation & Trends

  • Refine spa processes, create new service templates, and implement industry best practices
  • Be an adviser on retail product selection, marketing strategies, financial management, and wellness programming.
  • Stay informed on market trends, guest preferences, and emerging wellness modalities to continuously innovate and adapt.
