Job Description: The IP/DSD Consultant provides multi-site leadership, guidance, and support for the infection prevention and staff development programs across multiple skilled nursing facilities. This role ensures that each facility maintains regulatory compliance, implements best practices in infection control, and fosters continuous staff education and competency development. The consultant serves as a subject matter expert, mentor, and resource for facility-based IP and DSD team members. Key Responsibilities: Infection Prevention Support: * Conduct audits and reviews of facility Infection Prevention and Control Programs (IPCP). * Ensure compliance with CMS, CDPH, and local public health requirements. * Support facilities during outbreak investigations, infection tracking, and reporting. * Provide ongoing training and coaching to on-site IPs to enhance infection control practices. * Review and update infection prevention policies and procedures system-wide. Staff Development Oversight: * Evaluate and support the effectiveness of staff development programs in each facility. * Mentor and coach facility-based DSDs to ensure quality onboarding and continuing education programs. * Develop standardized educational materials and in-service training modules. * Monitor and ensure compliance with required training, certifications, and clinical competencies. * Support preparation for surveys related to education, infection control, and clinical practices. Consultative Leadership: * Act as a liaison between corporate clinical leadership and facility teams. * Identify trends, gaps, and training needs across facilities and develop action plans. * Collaborate with HR, QA, and Nursing Leadership to align training and infection control initiatives with overall organizational goals. * Stay current with regulations, infection prevention innovations, and adult education strategies.
