SUMMARY:

The Director of StrategyInsights will be a key leader in shaping the company’s long-term growth strategy by leveraging data-driven insights, market intelligence, and strategic analysis. This role will drive commercial strategy across Retail, Foodservice, and USDA markets, identifying new revenue opportunities, optimizing pricing and profitability, and supporting corporate development initiatives-including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) focused on value-added meat processors. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position will ensure that business strategies align with financial objectives and market demands.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in strategy, market insights, business analytics, or a related field within the meat or protein industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management, pricing strategy, and market analytics.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, or corporate development within the food industry.
  • Deep understanding of the Retail, Foodservice, and USDA meat industry landscape.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and business recommendations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data visualization, forecasting tools, and business intelligence software.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic PlanningMarket Insights:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for Retail, Foodservice, and USDA channels, focusing on value-added meat products.
  • Lead market research and competitive intelligence efforts to identify consumer trends, category dynamics, and whitespace opportunities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on brand positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans to maximize market share.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Innovation teams to assess demand and develop high-margin, differentiated pork products.

BusinessFinancial Analytics:

  • Partner with the CFO to analyze sales performance, pricing strategies, and profitability by channel, customer, and product line.
  • Develop forecasting models and scenario planning tools to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights to guide strategic and operational execution.
  • Optimize pricing and margin strategies to drive revenue growth while maintaining competitive positioning.

Mergers, AcquisitionsStrategic Growth:

  • Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities in value-added meat processing, with a focus on smoked, cooked, and sous vide pork products.
  • Conduct financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning for potential acquisitions.
  • Assess potential strategic partnerships and co-manufacturing opportunities with smokehouses, sous vide specialists, and prepared protein manufacturers.
  • Work with the CFO to evaluate cost synergies, operational efficiencies, and capital investment needs for M&A activities.

CustomerProduct Strategy:

  • Support Sales and Marketing teams in refining customer segmentation, targeting, and account-based strategies.
  • Utilize data-driven storytelling to enhance customer presentations and business development efforts.
  • Guide Product Innovation and R&D by analyzing market demand, pricing elasticity, and category expansion potential.

Cross-Functional LeadershipCollaboration:

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the CGO and CFO, providing insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that align commercial, financial, and innovation objectives.
  • Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
