Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW KIPP Indy Public Schools seeks an experienced Director of Student Life (DSL) who will lead the implementation of a vertically-aligned portfolio of athletic and extracurricular offerings across KIPP Indy’s network of schools. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the DSL will be a member of KIPP Indy’s regional team and collaborate with the school-based operations teams, coaches, and extracurricular sponsors. The DSL will work to ensure KIPP Indy Public Schools is living out our commitment to equity through providing a diverse, identity-affirming student experience that ultimately drives student retention, establishes a positive student culture, and increases student academic outcomes. The DSL will directly manage the campus-based extracurricular leaders. RESPONSIBILITIES Athletics & Extracurriculars Spearhead implementation of a vertically-aligned portfolio of athletic and extracurricular offerings across network of schools Collaborate with Chief Operating Officer on annual planning, goal-setting, and budgeting Manage campus-based extracurricular leaders on the implementation of programming and performance management of athletic coaches and extracurricular sponsors Oversee annual budgets and ensure program alignment with financial controls Oversee systems related to facility utilization, scheduling, and resource management Collaborate with members of the operations team on logistics such as transportation, custodial needs, and integration with campus procedures Oversee risk management and compliance, such as Title IX, physicals, security, and implementation of region-wide safety plans Manage conference affiliations and IHSAA eligibility Analyze data to refine programming, maximize results, and strengthen the student experience Develop and maintain external partnerships to support programming Observe program implementation and serve as an administrative presence at events as needed Campus Operations Oversee implementation of field trip procedures Lead efforts to incorporate student-centered, identity-affirming visual artifacts and messaging throughout facilities and common spaces Collaborate with schools on implementation of annual special events such as picture days, health/vision screenings, homecoming, promotion, and graduation Collaborate with operations team on systems related to enrollment, attendance, and retention Serve as operations liaison with the family and community engagement team to implement programming and events as needed Team Participate in weekly one on ones with Chief Operations Officer Actively participate in campus operations and other collaborative team meetings Attend, support, and engage in regional team meetings and development opportunities Qualifications COMPETENCIES Develops mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships based upon trust, respect, and achievement of common goals.
