QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must have successful teaching experience and possess a Master’s degree with Pennsylvania Special Education Supervisory certification
  2. Must possess clearances as required by law.
  3. Must be a well-organized instructional leader with strong management, interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Must be knowledgeable of best practice in areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment relative to all Student Services areas
  5. Must be able to assume administrative responsibilities during the day and evening

Responsibilities
  1. Administrative Leadership
    a. Supervise, encourage and promote programs for the district that promote professional growth among the Student Services programs’ staff
    i. Provide professional development opportunities for teacher leaders, including but not limited to, department and grade level heads and mentors
    ii. Provide professional staff with timely information pertaining to professional development opportunities through the Intermediate Units and Pennsylvania Department of Education
    iii. Assist the building principals in the development of building level professional development plans
    b. Supervise all areas relative to the special education program of the district
    i. Act as liaison between the district and the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (LIU) for exceptional student services, psychological services, and preparation of special education budget
    ii. Coordinate home LEA and intermediate unit conferences as requested
    iii. Coordinate and participate with neighboring school districts and consortium school district in conferences, as needed
    iv. Coordinate district’s special education placement
    v. Coordinate end of year placement conference
    vi. Attend end of year conferences for exceptional placement students who are outside the district
    vii. Attend/Provide professional development for special education staff
    viii. Coordinate monthly special education staff meetings
    ix. Coordinate oversight for Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) as required by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)
    c. Supervise other Student Services Programs of the district as directed by the Superintendent. These programs may include:
    i. Section 504 Services
    a) Act as liaison between the district and the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (LIU)
