The Director of Student Success assists in building, maintaining, supervising, and motivating a team of professional student success advisors. Hours for the position will typically be Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, and occasional Saturdays 9 am-1 pm. Flexibility for evening hours will be required as needed. Responsibilities of the position include: Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar to advise students, which includes adherence to the university’s established cohort scheduling plans. Collaborate with Admissions on retention events for new applicants, which allows them to build a relationship with incoming students. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement events and programs that assist with student retention and success. Monitors student performance and works with students, faculty, and other key personnel to develop solutions to mitigate student difficulties. Provides support, promotes teamwork, resolves problems, and recommends actions to ensure student success advisors are accomplishing departmental and university goals. Maintains an understanding of university policies and procedures and monitors team adherence through employee guidance and supervision. Works to establish appropriate department goals. Oversees the professional development of staff. Executes directives from the Office of the Provost that ensure academic compliance and integrity. Maintains the ability to operate and manage multiple deadlines and competing efforts. Meets with the VP of Enrollment Management and/or the Office of the Provost to discuss new retention initiatives, resolve problems, and recommend action to ensure accomplishment of goals. Monitors departmental costs and works with the VP of Enrollment Management to maintain the annual departmental budget. Maintains a positive working relationship with faculty, Executive Deans, and Deans and follows up in a timely manner to instructor submitted retention alerts. Partners with on-campus student services, tutoring programs, mentors, and other programs that assist students with reaching graduation. Maintains knowledge of FERPA laws and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in education, academic advising, and enrollment management preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines. Ability to work a flexible scheduled to accommodate weekend and evening hours as needed. Must possess excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
