Job Summary: Responsible for directing overall supply chain operations (direct and indirect materials and services), including purchasing, inventory, selection of suppliers and distribution of raw materials/finished goods. The Supply Chain Director will also be responsible for developing strategic plans to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of the Company’s supply chain operations, and will be directly tasked with developing short term and long-term inventory budgets to ensure efficient working capital management and timely supply of goods. Successfully executes key supplier negotiations to obtain optimal contacts and pricing. Utilizes data monitoring, commodity tracking and analytics to evaluate past performance and trends and forecast inventory and distribution requirements. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support functional infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned): · Lead, train, and develop a team of Supply Chain Buyers responsible for developing end-to-end supply chain strategies, coordinating resources, overseeing and reporting status, resolving issues and generally ensuring appropriate SC support is provided as needed to individual program and/or proposal efforts across the portfolio of efforts. · Serve as Supply Chain leader and “single point of contact” for the Supply Chain leadership in tasks such as status actions (i.e. subcontract negotiations, BOM pricing, Middleby Corporate liaison, etc.), supplier relationship/issue resolution, long range program/proposal/MRP supply base planning and coordination of financial forecasting. · This position will be responsible for evaluating and managing the supply chain structure, defining objectives to meet the company profit objectives, and integrating the Supply Chain management strategy with Division strategy. Primary responsibility to ensure supply base meets market competitive prices, program schedules and quality on all supplied materials for the health of the division. · Utilizes corporate analytics resources to inform strategic decision making; interprets data and reports to make informed recommendations and decisions and communicates them to facility, regional, and corporate leadership · Identify and implement year over year cost savings through supplier negotiations, VAVE projects and other activities. · Develop corrective action plans with Quality Assurance department, users, suppliers, and other parties, as appropriate, to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods or services. · Attract, develop, cultivate, and manage a high-performing team. Lead through change with sensitivity, clear vision, excellent communication skills. Education and/or Experience: · Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Business or similar field. · 5+ Years of operations/production experience and at least 5+ years in a strategic sourcing or procurement role in a similar industry/manufacturing plant. · Proficient in supplier relationship management, supplier development, and supplier risk management · Adept in total cost management, cost modeling and should-cost analysis · Collaborative mindset with effective people management and organization skills · Effective communication skills, team facilitation and influencing skills in a matrix environment · Demonstrate strong leadership principles and competencies · Proficient business and data analysis skills and familiarity with MRP and ERP tools (Oracle, SAP, etc.) · Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: · Supply Chain certification preferred Other Skills and Abilities/Qualifications: · Demonstrated knowledge and leadership in LEAN principles and practices · 5+ years of proven experience implementation and maintaining a continuous improvement culture and LEAN manufacturing environment · Knowledgeable in Material Resource Planning (MRP) · Keen supplier negotiations and relationship management skills – domestic and global suppliers · Must have a high degree of confidentiality and ethics Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
