Fulltime Exempt position. Summary: The Director of Surgical Services provides strategic and operational leadership across the full continuum of perioperative care, including: Outpatient Surgery Unit Preoperative Services Operating Room Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Sterile Processing Department Anesthesia Services Ambulatory Infusion Suite This role ensures the delivery of safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care, while driving performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Essential Job Functions: Lead, supervise, and evaluate surgical services staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, payroll, and workflow efficiency Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, accreditation standards, and infection prevention protocols Partner with Quality teams to develop and sustain performance improvement initiatives Manage departmental budgets and resources with a focus on fiscal responsibility Champion patient safety and high-quality perioperative care delivery Guide staff development through coaching, education, and performance management Lead change management efforts and process improvement initiatives Monitor and analyze quality and performance data to drive outcomes Ensure appropriate staffing, equipment, and supplies are consistently available Promote culturally competent care and patient advocacy across all services Maintain compliance with all licensure, certification, and training requirements Requirements Minimum Required Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with two years four years of varied and progressive perioperative services experience, and/or perioperative nursing management experience with increasing level of administrative responsibility and authority. At least one year of previous work experience in a supervisory role is required. Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations. • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. • Advanced knowledge in financial management; knowledge of practices and procedures for planning and formulating budgets and monitoring related expenses. • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work. • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration. • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians or others in a professional manner. Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted. Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to a TB test.
